Liliana Rangel is an emerging artist, born in Hartford, CT, raised in Venezuela, based in Miami, who is working primarily in oil pastels, but often mixing mediums such as charcoal, Graphite, acrylics, India ink, and ballpoint to create different approaches and finishes, with one theme in common: the essence of the female presence.
Surrounded by art in its many forms since early childhood and coming from a very artistic family, Liliana was raised in this nourishing environment which marked her path into the arts and pushed her personal sense of creativity and the curiosity to develop her skills.
Liliana Rangel began her professional artistic journey when in 2002 she had the opportunity to participate in several collective exhibitions, as well as solo exhibitions in Venezuela in universities such as UPEL, Universidad Yacambú, among other exhibition halls.
Liliana also had the privilege of having renowned Venezuelan visual artists Virgilio Arrieta, and Bernardo Nieves as tutors.
After settling in the city of Miami, Liliana had the opportunity to exhibit in some art galleries such as Futurama Gallery in the exhibition "Arte y Danza" in 2017, and Conde Contemporary in 2019 for a silent auction event to raise funds for breast health services. She was also actively involved in various Miami art events and fairs such as Cultural Fridays on the iconic Calle Ocho where people could directly browse through her art pieces and sometimes watch her painting live.
In September 2020 she exhibited her work in the virtual 3D gallery of iArtswall with 30 national and international artists.
She recently participated in two collective exhibitions at Futurama, Calle Ocho, Miami: “La Menina of Little Havana Collective Exhibit”, June-July 2021, and "Virgen de la Caridad Collective Exhibition" September 2021.
